Care & Maintenance
Hair Patch Maintenance — A Practical Weekly Routine
The difference between a patch that lasts 3 months and one that lasts 9 months is maintenance. Here's a routine that takes 5 minutes a day.
Daily routine (2 minutes)
Comb gently from ends to roots with a loop brush. Never tug at the base. Sleep on a silk pillowcase to reduce friction knots.
Weekly wash (10 minutes)
Detangle first, then apply sulphate-free shampoo downward from the base to the tips. Rinse with lukewarm water, condition mid-lengths only, and air-dry on a stand.
Monthly re-bond
Every 3–6 weeks, remove the patch with a proper solvent, deep-clean the base, and re-bond with fresh adhesive. Most users visit a salon; some do it at home after training.
Frequently asked questions
- How often should I wash my hair patch?
- Twice a week for active users, once a week otherwise. Over-washing loosens the knots.
- Can I use my regular shampoo?
- No. Use a sulphate-free shampoo formulated for hair systems. Regular shampoo strips the ventilation knots.
